Dont Flop Check Point All The Battles

Checkpoint was a success. Every battle went off, fans loved it, guests loved it, and the battlers loved it. There were no major crowd issues, besides a few passing out due to the heat… Remember, plenty of water next time! Ministry Of Sound is an internationally iconic venue, which was perfect, giving the stature of the lineup. The record crowd number was added too by some special guests, with people like Jammer, Faith SFX, Rizzle and Doc Brown amongst others, all keen to be involved in the event. The crowd packed into the main room as the rules and familiarities were announced, and it was quickly underway.

DON'T FLOP - Rap Battle - Arsonal Vs DNA Classic Battle. Arsonal vs DNA started off with fireworks, and didn’t lose momentum once. It had personals, big bars, jokes, props… All while the crowd was going wild! I’ve got a feeling most of us will watch this battle more than once!

DON'T FLOP - Rap Battle - Tony D Vs Charlie Clips. Another Don’t Flop debut was up next, as Tony D took on Charlie Clips. Tony’s last battle, over at KOTD, didn’t go too well, something that he addressed and made up for this time. Charlie Clips brought his A game, and had the crowd eating out of his hands. A lot gets said about fans at Don’t Flop events at times, but they certainly don’t show any bias against out-of-town MCs. The Americans got a huge reception all day.

DON'T FLOP - Rap Battle - Conceited Vs CrugerCrugers return to the Don’t Flop stage got the best reception of the day. It’s been a long time since Cruger battled on home soil, and for a lot of fans it was probably the first time they got to see him live. They won’t be disappointed. Conceited was making his Don’t Flop debut, but that didn’t mean that the fans knew what he was about, and couldn’t wait to shout “HAAAANH!”

DON'T FLOP - Rap Battle - Chris Leese & Unanymous Vs Charlie Clips & DNA. The event closed with the international 2v2. Unanymous and Chris Leese took on Charlie Clips and DNA. ‘Unanyleese’ came as expected. They’ve proven themselves as a good team, and they work well together. Clips and DNA paired up for the first time, and it’s difficult to know what to expect. I’ll say this…they surprised me. Together, they were different to how they are in their solo battles. Don’t get it twisted though, I am not saying that it was bad…it was far from it!

DON'T FLOP - Rap Battle - Villun Vs Sonny Bamboo.

Villun vs Sonny Bamboo was a great match up. Not just height-wise either. It was Villun’s first international battle, and much deserved too.

DON'T FLOP - Rap Battle - Joker Starr Vs Im.

Joker Starr vs Im was up next. It was a clash of two heavyweights, and got a little heated at times, which probably explains why somebody passed out halfway through one of Im’s rounds.

DON'T FLOP - Rap Battle - Mark Grist & Mixy Vs Scizzahz & Wizard. The day kicked off with Dead Poets, taking on the OSB’s. Mark Grist and Mixy, vs Schizzaz and Wizard. Two contrasting styles, that when matched up, made for a great battle, and a perfect way to start the day off and warm the crowd up.

DON'T FLOP - Rap Battle - Bamalam & Cystic Vs Bowski & Big Sarters
