anyway, don't have the basic details on this AMAZING group, i still don't know which part the USA they were from, but all i can tell you they were definitely independent & unfortunately the album never been released round the year it was recorded (1995). so that's why i had to bring them to you all, because i truely think they deserve way more attention than they had back then, it's not because the album was unreleased that is not quality sound, on the contrary believe it, it's pure dopeness to me ! so i'm here to definitely put the spotlight on these talented guys right here, hope you'll enjoy the album as much as i do !
as their group's name 'Smooth-N-Direct' might inspired you, their style were mainly based on Slow Jam, so you will definitely find on their album, mainly slow jams, but quality slow jams with a catchy melodic instrumentals & also catchy choruses that will stay on your mind for a long while, believe that !!! (for example the amazing jam 'Taste Of Your Love' will definitely convince each ones of ya'll) but they definitely proove they also got it going on with upper tempo music like 'Feenin', 'Sex You Up The Right Way' or 'Party Up' which will definitely show you that these guys had a lot of versatility on what they do !
i also been charged to tell you all that they will be soon onhttp://www.cdbaby.com/ & this album will be soon in store, so even they were unknown back then, come give a listen to this sampler & support the true R&B as it was back then, support 'Smooth-N-Direct' by bying their unreleased album, big thanks in advance for them !
