When Wailer was questioned as to the specific nature of his concerns he said, “[His conversion is] outright fraudulent use of [the] Rastafari Community’s personalities and symbolism. [Snoop has failed to meet the] contractual, moral and verbal commitments [of the Rastafarian religion],”
A seven page statement was recently released by The Ethio-Africa Diaspora Union Millennium Council that said, “Smoking weed and loving Bob Marley and reggae music is not what defines the Rastafari Indigenous Culture!” The Council has threatened to sue Snoop if he does not cease from using the name Snoop Lion, make a public apology, and pay fees to the organization for moral and financial support.
