Smack/URL Summer Madness 2: All The Battles

Now that all the battles are out, we can now look back at all the footage of the greatest battle competition ever. Summer Madness 2 is a great introduction for new fans of the battle scene, Url decided to hold this event in a venue holding thousands of onlookers and have provided an event that might have just changed the whole game. Although not all the performances were flawless, the notoriety of battle rap scene has reached a new unprecedented level never before scene in Hip Hop. Summer Madness 2 not only brought back Legends like Serious Jones into the arena but also attracted guests including Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip, Diddy and more. Highlights include Diddy putting 10 stacks in the middle of the T-Rex Vs Averb battle, Loaded Lux with the funeral theme and off course some incredible performances. That said..... there is still room for improvement, the crowd in hall seemed bias and over hyped concerning particular artists, having a five round battle at the end of a long night and the release of the battle footage a century later. The one off battle with JC and Chilla (Battle of the year for me) gave fans a glimpse of the original URL format in a smaller venue, where every bar can be heard clear and appreciated without an over zealous audience. Smack have come along way and only look to improve with endorsements, new artists, returning veterans and even established artists looking to get a piece and we're looking forward to see what happens next.

SMACK/ URL PRESENTS LOADED LUX VS CALICOE

Loaded Lux the legend came back to URL to battle Calicoe one of the recent stars to emerge from the new generation. This battle has almost reached 2 million views now and has provided fans with many quotes including U GON GET THIS WORK! Lux came in in full character, pulling up in a hurse, dressed for a funeral and even a coffin. The performance from Lux was so convincing there is still a debate whether Lux staged his choke or was he overwhelmed by the crowd. Calicoe went in on the second smelling blood but second round from Lux was ALOT, might have to check a view of blogs from lux to explain the bars that went over peoples heads. Check out the third round possibly one of the greatest rounds ever 34.20

SMACK / URL PRESENTS IRON SOLOMON VS MURDA MOOK

This one was the main event, Murda Mook the original face of URL came back to battle Iron Solomon. Even when Solomon concedes the battle during his last round, I feel everyone involved lost. For a main event at the end of a long night this was disappointing. That said Mook got this.

SMACK/ URL PRESENTS HITMAN HOLLA VS JOHN JOHN DA DON

The first round from both was the best I've HEARD, great performance from both, though I feel Hitman edged it this guy knows how to control the crowd and he stepped his bar game in this one. Which made and even better watch when Jon Jon went right back at Hitman. This battle comes down to whose first round you prefered. Maybe if Jon Jon stopped using other peoples material he would get a better rep.

SMACK/ URL PRESENTS DNA VS E-NESS

This is NUTTY! DNA is the golden child, after an epic battle with Dizaster, DNA cleaned up, just wish E-Ness but up more of a fight, he did really really bad.

SMACK/ URL PRESENTS SERIUS JONES VS CHARLIE CLIPS

Battle of the Jokers. Very good first round for both, nice house scheme from Clips and a great rebuttle for returning legend Serious Jones the freestyle master. 2nd round was Charlie especially when he started with the bar about the ring girl LOL but Serious killed the third round.

SMACK/ URL PRESENTS T REX VS AYEVERB (HOSTED BY P.DIDDY)

What can you say, before Averb started his battle he was being booed at

the Hitman battle. Good First round from both then Diddy changed the dynamics by

putting in 10 thousand in the pot. Its a shame that the crowd have to spoil

the battle cause this could have been a much better battle.

SMACK/ URL PRESENTS: JC VS CHILLA JONES (ONE OFF)

Honorary mention this battle took place the same weekend as Summer Madness 2

but was not on the cards, however this turned out to be one of if not the battle of the

year. Two upper and comers in the small venue, taking it back to the first Smack

Dvd battles. JC.........what a performance and the schemes from Chilla were bonkers.
