Cortez Talks Battle Rap Merging With Mainstream

The highly respected Brooklyn battle rapper, Cortez, recent sat down for an exclusive interview with VladTV, where he spoke on a variety of topics including the hopeful future that battle rap will be able to merge with mainstream hip hop. He also explained the differences between main stream artists recording songs and trying to become battle rappers. Cortez wasn't taking any shots at anyone, however he did speak his mind and say that he doesn't feel as though every main stream hip hop artist could do what he and his fellow battlers do in the ring, as was the case with the Canibus vs Dizaster battle.
