Nipsey Hussle Freestyles, Speaks on "Crenshaw" Profit, & Reveals Single off "Victory Lap"

The walking blueprint for independent artists, Nipsey Hussle, has been making noise in the hip hop community by selling his free #Crenshaw mixtape for $100 a pop — and stopped by Sway in the Morning to talk all about it.

Nip's goal was to sell 1,000 copies of his project, and ended up exceeding his target. Jay Z even reached out and purchased 100 copies, along with Jeff Clanagan.

Although his support was overwhelming, Nipsey tells Sway that he received a lot of backlash, specifically from a radio station in Los Angeles.

"Contagious" says Nipsey. That's the book that inspired his proud2pay campaign. Now, what does he plan to do with the money he's received?

"Marketing," he says.

On a personal note, Nip opens up about his dating life. Tracy G asks him what his ideal girl is, and he responded by saying...

"My team is solid, but I'm single." Nip admits. "Somebody solid, honest sincere... more so, their spirit has to be in vibration with mine."

Nipsey's album, Victory Lap, is coming soon, and his first single, Rap Ni**as drops at the top of the year.

"It's not for radio, but it needs to be said." Hussle says, while describing his first single.

Following our Sway in the Morning tradition, we couldn't let this LA entrepreneur leave with out kicking a freestyle! Watch below as he lights the mic on fire.

"It's easy to tell 'garbage' music. Easy to tell 'great' records. The 'good' records are confusing."
